Lucy’s 2012

Lucy was only alive for a little over 3/4 of 2012 but it was an eventful year for both her and us. Here are a few of the highlights:

March 10, 2012: Lucy and her seven siblings were born.

April 2012: I traveled to Philadelphia, PA to pick out our puppy (and I fully expected to pick the puppy that wasn’t Lucy!).

May 14
: My mom and I capped off an extended Mother’s Day Weekend by traveling to Philly to pick up Lucy and bring her back to Selinsgrove. I was very lucky to have my mom keep me company plus she got to spend Lucy’s first few days in her new home with us.

June 8-11: Lucy made her first long roadtrip since bringing her home to spend a few days with my parents – her first overnight!

June 28:
Lucy gets stung by a bee and has an allergic reaction, prompting an emergency trip to the vet and a panic attack for me.

September 13:
Lucy had four surgeries to fix a variety of issues and get spayed. Not a fun few days at all as she was subjected to the cone of shame and my wallet was $3000 lighter.

October 4:
Lucy graduates Puppy School!

October: I spent both money and time trying to find the right costume for Lucy’s first Halloween. In the end, my sparkly tutu was a no-go and she was a cross country “runner” for Halloween, much to the delight of Marty and his team.

December 21: We celebrated Christmas at home before leaving for the holidays and gave her Lucy her first-ever stocking filled with toys she destroyed in record time.

December 22-25: Christmas in Northern New Jersey with my family where Lucy saw her first real tree and got into everything. Oh, and spent Christmas Dinner sulking in her cage.

December 25-29:
Christmas in South Jersey with Marty’s family where she got another stocking and spent a full day tormenting poor Diesel.

December 31: Spent sleeping on the couch still recovering from the holidays. Her and me both!

I hope Lucy had a great 2012 because we sure did; getting Lucy was certainly the highlight and I can’t wait to see what the three of us do in 2013!
