Dog Days

Warning: Picture-heavy post ahead!

This evening was one of the most fun I’ve had in a while! Every year Susquehanna hosts “Dog Days” on Tuesday evenings in September. The goal is to help students who might feel homesick cheer up by getting to meet all sorts of dogs belonging to faculty, staff, etc.

On a whim, I emailed the coordinator today to see what it took to get Lucy and myself involved and she said all we had to do was show up and sign in – perfect, especially since we had no home events on campus tonight.

So after work I dressed Lucy in her jersey, loaded her (and treats and water bottle and poop bags and toys…) into the car and off we went!

Lucy was an absolute hit! She loved meeting other dogs and all the students loved her squishy face, Susquehanna jersey and her obsession with her water bottle.

Never far from her water bottle.

Never far from her water bottle.

Being pet and playing with her water bottle? Heaven!

She was more interested in her water bottle than the students, but at least the water bottle kept her occupied enough that they could actually pet her!

All in all a really fun evening. The students were visibly happy to see Lucy (and loved her jersey!) and Lucy had an absolute blast, as did I. Hopefully we’ll make a few more Tuesdays this month!
